Select a security related story that you have found in the news.
Sign up on the google form to select your presentation date and topic. Make sure NOT to
duplicate stories/topics. This should go without saying, but just in case, do NOT overwrite
someone else’s choices.
Try to find a unique story, one that the class should find interesting. Try to engage the class by
posing a couple of questions.
Prepare a 5 minute presentation with slides. Have slides on a USB so they can be accessed
quickly. The 5 minutes is a hard time limit.
What to include in your slides:
o Title slide – including title, both students’ names, and citation
o Summary of the news story
o Summary of the techniques used
o Impact of the attack
o Summary of the recovery
o Questions to engage the class
Important dates:
Sign up should be completed by Wednesday, September 6th. The google form will be locked at
that point.
Submit your slides, via iCollege, prior to class time on the date of your presentation. Do not alter
your slides after this point, otherwise they will not be graded.

Relevance of the story to the class
The depth of thinking on your chosen story – your insight/contribution
Quality of the slides
Organization and preparation
Timing
